Open Call: When the Bleeding Stops

We are looking for participants from Warsaw, ages 40 to 65, to take part in a project and performance!

As part of a guest performance at the Pavilion of Dance and Other Performing Arts, we are looking for women who are passionate about dance, ages 40 to 65.

The performance “When the Bleeding Stops” by Lovísa Ósk Gunnarsdóttir addresses the silence and taboo surrounding menopause, as well as personal experiences of aging. The piece presents a world full of sensitivity, shame, empathy, and humor. It takes us on a journey into the private lives of different people and explores the multifaceted experiences of women related to menopause. “When the Bleeding Stops” is a celebration of life at every stage!

No dance or stage experience is required! The project is conducted in English.

Participation begins in early September and will initially take place online. It includes one-on-one conversations with the choreographer and dancing at home. During the process, short video recordings may be made, and excerpts from them may be shown on stage after consulting with the participants. Participants are invited to take part in the performance and in a dance piece on stage at the Pavilion of Dance and Other Performing Arts.
