Agata Siniarska
null&void

"null&void" is a solo work by choreographer Agata Siniarska, who works in Berlin. The performance is an attempt to tell the story of mass destruction during war and to listen to voices that are often overlooked or neglected. Siniarska approaches this topic from an unusual, non-human perspective. In her work, which is the result of extensive research, she incorporates different points of view: those of the earth, landscapes, animals, plants, and inanimate matter.

War is a strictly anthropogenic phenomenon, whose destructive effects weave a web of connections between humans and non-humans. It entails the exploitation of natural resources, driven by the capitalist imperative of economic growth, which leads to armed conflicts and the degradation of ecosystems. It results in the long-term destruction of biodiversity and the pollution of air, soil, and water.

At the heart of "null&void" are questions that viewers can ask themselves, drawing on their own experiences and knowledge: How can we place humans in a non-human, post-war landscape? How can we seek the perspective of non-humans while having a human body? How can the human body develop a transhumanist understanding? How can we use and develop our senses to hear and see more, feel more intensely, and think differently?

Agata Siniarska's performance is presented as part of the Warsaw Calling review, which consists of the latest works by Polish choreographers who live and work in Berlin.

She works in expanded choreography. Her artistic and research practice situates itself between how we think about the world and how we move within it. Her current research concerns the idea of the Anthropocene museum, multispecies archives in times of war and extinction, and various alliances between human and non-human bodies. In addition to performance and choreography, Agata is involved in dramaturgy in the performing arts and has recently begun her journey through the underground music scene, playing in the band "szum" (alongside the noise-punk band "rat milk"). She lives in Berlin with her dog Foka. She is a big fan of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
