Classes in June
Indian dance classes for advanced students
EDUCATIONAL TUESDAYS
Classes inspired by the classical Indian dance form Kathak—full of rhythm, mindfulness, and creative exploration. This is a space where traditional technique, musical knowledge, and mindful bodywork come together with the individual styles of the participants. Each session is dedicated to a different topic and offers the opportunity to incorporate new elements into your own dance practice.

Course structure:
  1. A thorough warm-up—face, hands, fingers, and the entire body; elements of Kathak, Natyasastra, and therapeutic yoga.
  2. Introduction to the topic – working on a selected aspect of the technique in its classical form.
  3. Improvisation and integration – a creative exploration of how to apply the elements learned to one’s own movement language.
  4. Quiet time and summary – reflection and time for questions.

Meeting topics:
  • facial expressions, mudras, and emotional body postures,
  • rhythm and "playing" music with the feet, coordination, and the basics of Indian music theory,
  • spinning technique – working with the axis and balance,
  • The five elements in motion as a source of quality and improvisation.
Duration: 75 minutes
Workshops for ages 16+
