Polish-Czech sabbatical residency
The three-week “Safer Spaces” residency offers an opportunity for rest and creative reflection for dance, choreography, and performance artists from the Czech Republic and Poland—whether they work individually or in pairs.

The residency is hosted by the Pavilion of Dance and Other Performative Arts in Warsaw, and coordinated by the Czech Centre in Warsaw. We are seeking four people who want to take a break at the end of the year and explore their own artistic practice through the lens of the residency’s theme.

NOTE! Knowledge of English is required for participation. The application form must be completed in English.

  • A stipend of PLN 4,500 gross per resident
  • Accommodation in Warsaw in a shared apartment (December 1–21, 2025)
  • Reimbursement of travel expenses to and from Warsaw and local public transportation costs
  • Access to the Pavilion of Dance, including the stage and common areas
Who are we looking for?
Four artists working in the fields of dance, choreography, and performance art—two from Poland and two from the Czech Republic

  • Application deadline: November 2, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
  • Residency dates: December 1–21, 2025
How do I apply?
  1. Fill out the application form.
  2. Write a motivational letter explaining your interpretation of the theme “Safer Spaces” (max. 2,400 characters).
  3. Please include a brief description of your experience in the fields of dance, choreography, and other performing arts (max. 800 characters).
  4. Please include your resume, portfolio, and links to your artistic work.
