Community choreography workshop “In C” by Sasha Waltz & Guests
In 2021, the Berlin-based company Sasha Waltz & Guests launched a new artistic process with the performance “In C,” inspired by Terry Riley’s groundbreaking 1964 composition of the same name. Based on the structure of Riley’s open musical score, choreographer Sasha Waltz and her dancers developed a system of 53 choreographic figures. Within a clear set of rules, these movements can be repeated, combined, and interpreted in various ways, creating a dynamic choreography that evolves collectively.

As part of the community workshops, dancer Margaux Marielle-Tréhoüart from the Sasha Waltz & Guests company will lead workshops designed for participants from diverse backgrounds to explore the concept of the performance “In C.” Participants will explore selected movement patterns and experience how choreography can emerge through interaction, listening, and playful experimentation within the group.

The workshop is open to all levels and requires no prior experience.

Please note! The workshops will take place in the Auditorium of the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, at 103 Marszałkowska Street.

Duration: 120 minutes
