The cost of participating in the workshop is 180 zł. Qualified candidates will be notified by email by
01.06.2026 r. We invite those who do not qualify to participate in
the open area of the laboratory, for which registration is open.
Two open workshops will be available to anyone interested:
- "The Dreaming Ear"
- “Embodying Futures”
The workshops will be led by Śomi Śniegocka and iSaAciSaBeL.
“Maszkary” is a three-day choreographic workshop led by An Szopx, during which participants will immerse themselves in intuition and magic as a methodology for their work.
The primary tools will be choreographic scores (instructions, frameworks, or sets of rules that trigger performative or movement-based actions) and improvisation, experienced through play, channeling —understood as a process of transmitting information—and collective practice. An’s work with scores stems from the Mystery School of Choreography—an unconventional program of experimental studies for artists and performers—where, together with choreographer Meg Stuart, they explored abstract and ambiguous choreographic structures. Participants will be invited to work with the body, voice, imagination, and text—treated both as sources of inspiration and as tools for processing individual and group experiences.
Here’s what An Szopx says about the lab:
As we share these practices, we’ll flow through hybrid figures and personal myths. We’ll disintegrate and compost. We’ll fantasize about the collective body. Through performative and choreographic practices, we aim to create new worlds and settle into them as furry personas. We’ll use our fangs to pierce outdated binary separations between the human and the non-human, opening ourselves up to grotesque exceptions to the rule.
The workshop is aimed at people interested in dance, improvisation, and relational practices who feel comfortable working in a group and are open to experimenting with movement and imagination. No specific technical skills are required—curiosity, a willingness to engage in the process, and openness to working with intuition are more important. Experience in other areas of artistic and somatic practice is also welcome.
The workshop program consists of three days of practice (approx. 6 hours per day), with a lunch break in the morning and afternoon. Weather permitting, some activities may take place outdoors.
The facilitator is committed to creating an environment that supports diverse modes of perception and participation. For neurodiverse participants, a quiet space for rest and relaxation will be available, allowing them to temporarily step back from the intensity of the process, regulate their experience, and engage in the practice at their own pace and within their own comfort zone.
A detailed schedule will be sent to selected participants closer to the event date.
Applications for the main workshop process are open until May 24, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.
