Classes in September
Tap dance classes for dancers of other styles and techniques

EDUCATIONAL TUESDAYS
Tap dancing is a unique, rhythm-based dance technique in which sound is created by the shoes striking the floor, and the dancer becomes a musician at the same time. By combining elements of dance, music, and percussion, it develops a sense of rhythm, motor coordination, and body awareness.

These classes are designed for dancers of other styles who want to learn tap dance. They offer an excellent opportunity to develop musicality, precision, and the ability to move consciously in time with the rhythm. Working with accent, tempo, and musical structure fosters an understanding of the relationship between movement and sound and can be successfully applied to other dance techniques.

During the classes, participants will learn the basic steps and techniques of tap dancing, how to work with music, and how to develop their improvisation skills.

To protect the Pavilion’s floor, classes will be held exclusively in soft shoes—such as dance or jazz shoes.
Duration: 75 minutes
Workshops for ages 16+
Anula Kołakowska-Kubicka
Dancer, choreographer, instructor, and founder of the Tip Tap tap dance school in Warsaw. She has been involved in dance since a very young age, and has been tap dancing since she was eight, which has become her greatest passion and the main focus of her artistic work. She holds a degree in psychology and completed the Jazz Dance Instructor Certification Course in 2010 at the Mazovian Institute of Culture in Warsaw.

Since 2013, she has been leading regular tap dance classes for teens and adults, as well as workshops organized throughout Poland. She continually hones her skills by participating in international courses and training programs in tap dance and other dance techniques. In 2015, thanks to a scholarship awarded by Heather Cornell, she participated in the Manhattan Rhythm Tap Intensive in New York, and in 2019 she completed the Professional Tap Training Program at Luthier in Barcelona.

In her youth, she repeatedly won the titles of Polish Champion and Runner-up in tap dancing, as well as the Czech Cup. Currently, she focuses primarily on teaching and choreography. Among her greatest achievements is her work with the Tip Tap Ladies group, which, thanks to its original choreography, has twice won the gold medal at the World Tap Dance Championships (2022, 2023).
