Karolina Kraczkowska’s *Unconsumed* examines femininity and how it is shaped by social expectations and stereotypes. The starting point is the “unconsumed”—a potential that eludes imposed roles and demands fulfillment. How can the body be used to challenge social and political divisions related to gender? What happens to the image of the female body when it becomes an object of judgment, consumption, and desire?

The performance uses movement and metaphorical visual language to explore various conceptions of femininity. It challenges patriarchal norms that define what the “ideal” woman should be and seeks ways to reframe them. *Unconsumed* also brings together what is often portrayed as contradictory in patriarchal culture: sexuality and spirituality.

Dancer, performer, and choreographer. A graduate of the Institute of Applied Linguistics at the University of Warsaw, the Dance in Performance program at the Laban Centre in London, and the Department of Photography at the Łódź Film School. From 2004 to 2007, she was a dancer with the Polish Dance Theater, and for many years she was a co-founder of Centrum w Ruchu. As a freelancer, she has collaborated with, among others, Jasmin Vardimon, Fin Walker, Tino Sehgal, Ramona Nagabczyńska, Marta Ziółek, Paweł Sakowicz, Anna Smolar, and Renata Piotrowska. She is a DanceWeb fellow. At the same time, she is developing her own choreographic practice, carrying out projects and residencies in Poland and abroad, including at Chez Bushwick and Movement Research in New York, Zachęta, Stary Browar, the Kraków Choreography Center, and Komunia Warszawa. In her work, she explores the transformation of the body, identity, and perception, treating the body as a dynamic process of constant becoming.

A collective of individuals involved in contemporary choreography and performance art, founded on the initiative of the Burdąg Foundation in March 2012. It was a response to the lack of choreographic centers in Poland where one could create performances, conduct workshops, or develop artistic work in other ways. A dozen or so choreographers decided to join forces to bring about change from the grassroots level. They created a space for rehearsals, workshops, performances, and discussions with audiences. For 13 years, in Warsaw’s Wawer district, they ran, among other things, original educational programs such as the experimental choreography course “Choreography at the Center,” rehearsals, presentations of works-in-progress, and much more.
