SCREENING OF CHOREOGRAPHIC FILMS
On June 21, an open-air screening of choreographic films will take place on the interior facade of the Pavilion. The program will feature the feature-length film “Waterdances / Yes Poem” by Maria Zimpel and three short films: “Mysource” by Agnieszka Mastalerz, as well as “YOS – Years of Silence” by Agnieszka Brzezińska and “You Wanted Rivers” by Magdalena Zielińska, both selected from the Mov(i)e Flow lineup.
All of the films presented share a special relationship with nature. They were shot in various locations—from Switzerland, Poland, and Norway to the Moroccan desert—and their common thread is a poetic perspective on the body immersed in its natural environment. In addition to the medium of dance and movement and the presence of Polish performers, the films are also united by a unique sensitivity to the sound and rhythm of the surrounding world.
The screenings will be held in a format adapted to the needs of participants regarding comfort, accessibility, neurodiversity, and sensory sensitivity. During the screenings, you are free to change your position—sit, lie down, or stand up—and may leave and rejoin the screening at any time. The screenings will be accompanied by soft, ambient lighting, and the sounds made by the audience as well as their movement during the screening will be fully accepted.

A choreographer and dancer, she explores the boundaries of physicality by creating modular choreographic structures based on partially repetitive movement patterns. She draws inspiration from somatics and craniosacral release. She is the creator of numerous solo and group projects that have been presented in many countries across Europe and beyond. She studied dance and choreography at HZT at the Universität der Künste in Berlin. Her choreography “Noish ~” was selected for Aerowaves 20/2016 and the Polish Dance Platform 2017. She is a choreographic artist-in-residence for the 2019–2020 season at K3|Tanzplan Hamburg at Kampnagel, based in Hamburg. She has created several choreographies with Kampnagel Hamburg, with her most recent premiere taking place in 2023 as part of the LOVE PROJECT. Since 2020, she has been a member of the artistic collective STUDIO Hammerdeich.
Maria Zimpel
Visual artist, born in 1991 in Łódź. In her practice, she explores mechanisms of control and the processes that influence and exploit the individual. She employs a poetic visual language to analyze the rules governing intimate relationships, communities, institutions, and our relationship with the natural environment. She creates primarily video works, often combining scientific imaging techniques with performative elements.
A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (2018), cultural studies at the University of Warsaw (2013), and the Malmö Art Academy (2024). She has studied and participated in artist residencies at, among others, the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Braunschweig and Hamburg.
Her works have been exhibited at, among others, Zachęta, the Krupa Art Foundation, MOCAK, MAXXI, Palazzo Strozzi, Deichtorhallen, the NS-Dokumentationszentrum, and during Manifesta 14. Recipient of the Młoda Polska scholarship (2024). She has participated in residencies at, among others, the Akademie Schloss Solitude, the Susch Museum, and Vila 31 x Art Explora. Since 2026, she has been an assistant in the Department of Experimental Film at the University of Arts in Poznań (UAP).

Agnieszka Mastalerz
Agnieszka graduated with a degree in Dance and Body Studies from the University of Social Sciences in Poznań. She trained under the guidance of Johannes Wieland, Alleyne Dance, Hannes Langolf, Sofia Nappi, and Atilla Ronai. To this day, she remains associated with the Polish dance company h.art dance company. Together with h.art company, she co-created the performances “Incredible Close” and “de light,” and also co-produced the project “The Symphony of The Whispering Walls,” choreographed by Erion Kruja.
She created a solo piece for a Polish dancer titled “Who cares,” which was selected for the pre-selection round of the International Solo Dance Competition in Poland.
Agnieszka also creates dance films: “Years of Silence” was selected for the TOP 3 at the Kliff Kick Off International Festival (2nd place in the Dance category and the Audience Award), and “YOS” was selected for the Cinedanza Film Festival at the Theater in Modena (Italy).
Agnieszka is currently focusing on creating dance films and is developing her skills in this field in collaboration with Jan Gierach. Jan is a Warsaw-based Steadicam operator with extensive experience in shooting music videos and television commercials. His experience also includes work as a camera operator and photographer – jangierach.pl.
She created a solo piece for a Polish dancer titled “Who cares,” which was selected for the pre-selection round of the International Solo Dance Competition in Poland.

Agnieszka Brzezińska
A graduate of the University of the Arts London. Director of short films and commercials, movement director, and former contemporary dancer.
Magdalena has directed music videos and short films, many of which have been screened and awarded at festivals in Poland and abroad, including SXSW, the Miami Short Film Festival, and the PL Music Video Awards. She has created commercials and branding materials for brands such as Adidas, Pepsi, MasterCard, and Client Earth.
Her openness, energy, and immense passion for working with people translate into a direct connection with actors and film crew members. Her background in dance and experience working with the body are important assets that set her apart from other directors, allowing her to work organically with actors and their emotions.
